Alphabet Dance

About two years ago, I had a really fun project and e-course I was working on called The Alphabet Dance. After the initial run of the class, and the excitement around having a new baby, I sorta let it fall by the wayside.

I’ve been working again on getting it up and running as a self-paced e-course, I hope to have it available in January. I’m not really sure why I never posted the artwork I made for it, because I really love the paintings that came out of it. I’m also hoping to pick this project up again, and start creating some more daily art in 2019!

For now just thought I’d share some of the artwork around here, if you want to be the first to know about the e-course when it comes out, sign up for my newsletter here.

Patterns, Patterns, Patterns!

I’ve been so obsessed with making patterns lately. It is oddly so calming, fun, and there is just something about moving shapes around until they are just right that is so satisfying!

This is another one I created using my autumn leaves clip art. It has been so much fun just coming up with different autumn color schemes. I’ve known how to make patterns for some years now, but since getting a subscription to skillshare and taking some classes on there, I feel like it was just the refresher I needed. I just recently took Jessica Swift’s pattern camp, which I recommend to anyone interested in learning more about creating their own patterns!

Happy Autumn Everyone! :)

Autumn Artwork

fall leaf

I’ve been hard at work on some new art, and it is all available as a digital clip art collection! Being inspired by autumn coming and the fact that the leaves are already starting to change up here. I’m hoping to make many more of these types of collections going forward, and also some patterns along the way as well.

What fall project will you create?

The Big Exhale

The last couple weeks have been a bit of a roller coaster ride, as a health scare took over almost every waking moment. It is all ok, and thankfully nothing serious. It still gave me enough pause that life has stood still for a bit, and I was definitely holding my breath. I wish I was more resilient in that I could dig down and get to work when my life is in a bit of chaos, but for me being still, and pausing seems to always be the default. I have no idea whether it is good or bad, but it always seems to put so much on hold. I'm hoping to work on changing that a little in the future, maybe if only for my own sanity.

With all that said, new work is around the corner, and I'm hoping it will brighten the world just a little bit.

In other life happenings, because I do want to share here once in awhile about my life, Ezra started officially 3K this year, and Elly is on the cusp of turning 2!!! And Charlie, well he's just been along for the ride...Time is a flying...

New Art: Beach Days

beach days

Making all these illustration about childhood memories has been so fun. This new illustration is called Beach Days. I didn't spend a ton of time at the beach as a kid, and I would get burnt pretty easily as well, so being in the sun meant being covered up.

Every year though we would go camping, and the campground had a man-made lake for fishing and swimming, complete with a metal slide that was always a challenge to go down. Some of my fondest summer memories are from camping and hanging out all day at the beach.
